Saving Money at the Grocery Store

I’ve been getting more organized with using coupons over the past few months and it really does make a big difference in your grocery bill.  Many grocery stores have double coupons and you can also download them to your membership card.  Giant gives you more coupons if you use the new tool they have called Scan It (I use Giant because it’s in walking distance from where I live).  Scan It let’s you shop and scan your products as you put them in the cart.  I like to bag my items in my cart as I scan them.  Then when you go to checkout you just scan a barcode at the register and it rings everything up for you.

What’s also cool about using your store card is that they keep track of the products that you purchase frequently and give you coupons that are relevant to you.  Also check for double coupons at your store.  I was pleasantly surprised when I scanned a coupon and got double coupon savings on my purchase.  I’ve been saving around $10 each time I go to the grocery store.  It may not seem like a lot but that’s a monthly subscription to Netfilx or Hulu.

Another place to get coupons is through websites.  The website I like to use a lot is Coupons.com.  They have a toolbar for your browser that lets you know which products are for sale that week and you can also get alerts for products you like.
